The Government Laboratory has evolved from a small and simple establishment to our leading edge factilities providing advanced and professional services to the Hong Kong community. Overs the years, its decdicated staff have watched over our foodstuffs, our pharmaceuticals, our environment, the safety of many of our consumer products and have provided forsenic serivces for the administration of justice.

On the occasion of its 90th Anniversary, I congratulate the Government Chemist and all the staff of the Government Laboratory for their many achievements in the transformation of the Department and in serving the community. Looking forward I am confident that the Laboratory will be able to meet the ever-increasing challenges that the future will bring.
